During our workshop Zen Weven we will weave together creatively and according to our own feelings. There are no rules, you can feel and do what you like. No weaving experience is necessary, just the will to try something new and enjoy the moment and creating.

Ben je na de workshop nog niet helemaal klaar met je project en/of wil je nog wat verder weven? Dan kan je het getouw huren aan 20€ per week. De waarborg bedraagt 235€, die krijg je na inleveren van het weefgetouw (in goede staat) weer terug. Besluit je het weefgetouw aan te schaffen na het huren wordt de huurprijs in mindering gebracht.

Workshop Wol Verven (Ketting voor Weven)

When you come, the warp will be ready for you. The warp is 100% high-quality English wool with a thickness of Nm 16/2 and suitable for use in warp. The warp is 2.75m long and contains 300 threads (the recommended sett is 8 threads/cm for linen weave and 10 threads/cm for twill weave).

We prepare the dye together, you can choose from a wide range of colors. We use so-called acid dyes (suitable for dyeing wool, silk, etc.). Acid dyes are very economical, they react quickly with the fibers and are very colorfast.

Afterwards, take the chain with you, rinsed but still wet. It still needs to dry at home.

If desired, you can purchase black wool of the same quality to use as weft. This comes in strands of 750m length and one strand is sufficient for the weft of your self-dyed warp.

Workshop Initiatie Wol Verven (voor weven of breien)

In deze workshop verf je creatief een grote streng garen (100 g) die je uit ons assortiment kiest. Je kan dit geverfd garen gebruiken om te weven (zowel ketting als inslag) of om te breien.

We prepare the dye together, you can choose from a wide range of colors. We use so-called acid dyes (suitable for dyeing wool, silk, etc.). Acid dyes are very economical, they react quickly with the fibers and are very colorfast.

Na afloop neem je de ketting uitgespoeld maar nog nat mee. Hij moet thuis nog drogen. Na het drogen is het garen klaar om te verwerken in jouw unieke project!

Indien gewenst kan u tegen een meerprijs nog een tweede streng garen verven.

Maak kennis met weven

Weven is een toegankelijk en verrassend eigentijds handwerk. Je combineert kleur, structuur en materiaal tot een resultaat dat helemaal van jou is.

Maak er een creatieve zondagnamiddag van

In onze weefworkshops leer je op een eenvoudige manier de basis van het weven. We tonen je hoe het weefgetouw werkt, welke materialen je kan gebruiken en hoe je tot een mooi, strak of speels weefwerk komt. Ervaring is niet nodig — iedereen kan meteen aan de slag.

Rustig werken, mooi resultaat

Weven vraagt geen haast. Je werkt stap voor stap en ziet je creatie geleidelijk groeien. Dat maakt het niet alleen leuk om te doen, maar ook verrassend ontspannend.

Wil je eens proberen hoe het voelt om zelf te weven? Dan ben je welkom in onze studio voor een workshop die zowel leerzaam als gezellig is.

Er zijn verschillende mogelijkheden:

• Korte workshop (2u) bijvoorbeeld mug rug weven van 14:00-16:00
• Middellange workshop (2,5) bijvoorbeeld klein wandtapijtje weven van 14:00-16:30
• Lange workshop (3,5u) bijvoorbeeld groter wandtapijt, kussenhoes of stuk weefsel weven dat later verwerkt kan worden in kleding bijvoorbeeld van 14:00-17:30

Het gebruik van de weefgetouwen en alle materialen is inbegrepen in de prijs.

Multi-day workshop dye your own warp and weave your self-dyed warp

This workshop consists of 3 parts.

The first day we dye a warp of sock wool.

We prepare the dye together, you can choose from a wide range of colors. We use so-called acid dyes (suitable for dyeing wool, silk, etc.). Acid dyes are very economical, they react quickly with the fibers and are very colorfast.

Afterwards, take the chain with you, rinsed but still wet. It still needs to dry at home. Or you can choose to let the chain dry in the studio.

On the second day we set up the loom.

We start with beaming. Then we thread the heddles and pull the threads through the reed. After tying on we can start weaving.

At the end of the second day, you can take the loom home and continue weaving at home.

We finish the weaving on the third day.

Self-twisted fringes can be made, etc. We discuss the previous days and any questions you may have. Afterwards you can take your finished project home with you!

• A deposit of €300 must be paid on the second day when the loom is taken home, you will get this amount back when you return the loom on the third day.
• Coffee, tea and water and something tasty to go with it

Duration and price:

• The workshop lasts 3 days
• Day 1: 3 hours from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM February 25, 2025
• Day 2: 6 hours from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM March 11, 2025 provide your own lunch
• Day 3: 2.5 hours from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM March 18, 2025
• The price is200€ per person including yarn and use of loom and material
• If the loom is taken home, a deposit of €300 must be paid in cash on the second day. The deposit will be returned to you on the third day when you return the loom.

Workshops op jouw maat

Altijd al eens willen weven? Loop je vast bij het opzetten van je nieuwe getouw? Of wil je je kennis gewoon wat opfrissen?
Dan ben je bij Sigi Wovens aan het juiste adres.

For whom?

Iedereen kan leren weven.
Of je nu nog nooit een weefschuitje hebt vastgehouden of al ervaring hebt en je graag nieuwe technieken of getouwen wilt uitproberen – zoals een bandweefgetouw, hevelrietgetouw, of een 4-schachts, 8-schachts of 16 schacht tafel- of vloerweefgetouw – de workshops worden afgestemd op jouw niveau en interesse.

Ik begeleid je stap voor stap, zodat je met vertrouwen en plezier kunt weven.

Op maat van jouw ervaring

We vertrekken vanaf wat jij al weet (of nog wilt ontdekken).
Samen stellen we een persoonlijke workshop samen die aansluit bij jouw wensen.

Dat kan zijn:

• werken op je eigen getouw (in mijn atelier of bij jouw thuis),
• weven op een van mijn tafelweefgetouwen of vloerweefgetouwen in mijn studio,
• of experimenteren met een hevelrietgetouw of bandweefgetouw.

Samen bekijken we welke vaardigheden je wilt ontwikkelen of verfijnen, daarop bouwen we verder.

Wat kun je maken?

Tijdens de workshop kun je onder andere:

• een sjaal weven,
• een klein wandkleed maken,
• of een stuk stof creëren dat je later kunt verwerken tot iets unieks.
• een band weven
• Mug Rug weven

Alles draait om jouw creativiteit, tempo en plezier in het weven.

Prijzen:

Privé workshop voor 1 persoon

• Studio Bilzen: € 45 per uur (inclusief 21 % btw)
• Op locatie: € 55 per uur (inclusief 21 % btw) + € 0,19 per km + parkeerkosten

De minimale duur is 1 uur in de regio Bilzen of 3 uur wanneer de workshop verder weg plaatsvindt.

Privé workshop voor twee personen met een minimum van 1 uur in de regio Bilzen
(3 uur bij locaties verder weg):

• Studio Bilzen: € 35 per uur per persoon (inclusief 21 % btw)
• Op locatie: € 45 per uur (inclusief 21 % btw) + € 0,19 per km + parkeerkosten

De minimale duur is 1 uur in de regio Bilzen of 3 uur wanneer de workshop verder weg plaatsvindt.

Privé groepssessies
